unexpected favorite!Review by an adventurous toddlerWe've been using NBT freeze-dried fruits & veg as snacks for our daughter since a 22-day road trip last summer at age 1... highly recommend! We were able to use food to stave off bored toddler meltdowns WITHOUT making a huge mess in the car or feeding her nutritionless rice puffs for 3 weeks straight, and now at home I can give her an unprocessed snack with zero effort. We always have a couple little tupperware of freeze dried treats in the diaper bag. These little grape "chips" were a big surprise - everyone loves them! They are SO sweet, good size for little hands, don't escape "spill-proof" cups, don't stain anything, don't disintegrate if they're forgotten and carried around in the diaper bag for 2 weeks, and have a satisfying chip-like "crunch". I'm not a fan of grapes (plus I hate cutting them into shapes kids can't choke on, ugh) but we all love these. I'd imagine they'd be great in salads, but every time I pull the bag out a child disappears with it.
ExcellentReview by VickieI prefer the sliced grapes over the whole grapes. They are much easier to re-hydrate and can be used in a wider variety of recipes. I LOVE them re-hydrated and added to my home canned chicken salad. VERY good. Turns an easy meal into something special!
Delicious! Basically candyReview by CathyI can't vouch for how these rehydrate because I ate them all straight out of the bag. They're delicious, crunchy, little sugar chips. I love them.
Easy to Prepare
- Use dry as a healthy snack, as an addition to trail mixes, and as a crunchy topping for salads, cereals, and desserts.
- For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.
Yield — 1 oz equals about 1 cup dry with very low moisture content.
Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried red seedless grapes, once rehydrated, equals approximately 5 lbs of fresh prepared grapes.
Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed while minimizing exposure to high humidity and heat.
