Finally! I found my banana chips. What makes these perfect for me are the slightly crunchy slices that melt in the mouth. They have the right touch of sweetness too. The chips I find in the stores are a bit too hard for my taste, so I'm thrilled to have a long-term storable option in these freeze-dried slices.

My first order was placed earlier this month, and I am already back for more! I've wanted to order freeze dried fruits and veggies for years, but the price was daunting to me. With my living circumstances, now was the time if I ever wanted 'fresh' fruits and veggies. I ordered a variety of items, ALL have been amazing! The bananas along with several other fruits I ordered went into a huge batch of instant oatmeal packets, (I used 42 oz of oatmeal kind of huge batch). I basically used all the fruits I did not 'taste test' first lol. Soooo good! The price actually is not at all bad when you consider what you get! I'm hooked.

I've been looking for freeze dried bananas for awhile and finally found NBT's. I was looking for a more convenient way to add banana to my morning meal and these fit the bill. This is a great product! The bananas are at the ripeness I prefer and they arrive with a lightly crunchy, tasty texture that makes it hard to not just eat the whole bunch right away. This product is SO much better than the banana chips that are fried in oil. They look like real bananas compared to the fried chips and are just as crispy. I'm looking forward to trying out NBT's other offerings. Well done NBT!

I am a HUGE banana fan and a lover or the freeze dried version. Initially, I received the North Bay bananas as a gift. Having previously tried many different manufacturers, the North Bay bananas are the most crisp and flavor filled ever. They explode in your mouth with great texture and flavor. Worth the price.

As usual this product is a home run. Tasty, delicious and a healthy alternative to processed junk. This is our second order from NBT and we have not been disappointed in any of the items we ordered. We held off on ordering a large amount of fruit items due to the naturally high cost but every item we've tried has been well worth the expense. The bananas do have a great flavor but they do leave a slightly greasy feeling in your mouth. Not sure what that is but they do taste like real bananas.

These aren't like banana chips (which are hard, typically fried in oil, and sugar-coated). Instead, they get their sweetness from the natural ripeness of bananas. They are light and delicately crispy with a great banana flavor. I haven't tried mixing them into anything yet because I could happily snack on these til they're gone.

These are absolutely awesome. I ordered them as a healthy snack for on the go and to add to yogurt and oatmeal. These bananas have been freeze dried at the perfect ripe-ness. I half expected them to have that sort of sour taste of not perfectly ripe bananas but nope these are super tasty! Natures Candy for sure. TRY THEM!!

I have fallen in love with freeze dried bananas. They are a great alternative to the banana chips which have added oil and sugars. These freeze dried bananas have a great taste. I have tried other brands and there are some that leave a weird after taste. I plan on ordering them again along with some other freeze dried products. A great company with a great product. Am buying again after using up a 3 pound foil bag. I loved the fresh taste, that the fruit never spoiled and was just as fresh tasting at the end of the bag as when first opened. With any freeze dried fruit, there is a small amount of powdered fruit at the bottom of the bag. That powder was WONDERFUL added to pancakes. Added the last spoonful to a package of (cook till boiling) vanilla pudding. YUM!

I had high expectations with this product, as I have been very pleased with my other purchases. However, I would rate the bananas as 3-stars, because they had a very "green banana" taste, not fully ripe. They also leave a strange aftertaste in my mouth, unlike the other freeze-dried bananas I have had from other companies. I suspect this is a "batch" problem, and perhaps ordering at a different time of year may result in a better product. A 20-pound bulk bag filled 2 of the 6-gallon buckets with a reclosable liner inside, and had 2.5 qts left over.

We are so pleased with the quality and taste of your freeze dried banana slices. The soft crunch and melt in your mouth experience is truly a treat to the palate bursting with flavor. They are far superior than other brands we have tried and lower in cost. This is how nature wanted bananas to be eaten, in the raw and deliciously natural. Once you eat some you can not stop! They are now a part of my emergency food supply as they have a 2 year shelf life. I would highly recommend trying the freeze dried gift box as it is a real value for your money compared to the price you would find in the specialty gormet stores!

Freeze Dried Bananas

Easy to Prepare

  • Use dry as a healthy snack, as an addition to trail mixes, and as a crunchy topping for cereals and desserts.
  • For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 minutes in cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Yield — 1 oz equals about 1/2 cup dry with less than 4% moisture content.

Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried bananas, once rehydrated, equals approximately 7 lbs of fresh prepared sliced bananas.

Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed while minimizing exposure to high humidity and heat.
