Freeze dried strawberries are the only type of fruit that my son will eat. We've tried many different brands stateside but we moved overseas where health food stores do not exist. Thankfully, I stumbled upon NBT and it has been a blessing! I literally order 1-2 lbs a month because he takes a handful to school everyday. As for the quality of the strawberries...absolutely incredible. We live on the other side of the globe and the item arrives in pristine condition! Also, the price of the strawberries can't be beat! North Bay Trading is our hero!!!!!

I bought these to make a lovely strawberry shortcake in a jar present, and had leftovers. I kind of already had an idea that I'd like freeze dried strawberries, but I had no idea how much I'd love eating them straight from the bag! Beware, if you've never had dried strawberries that weren't coated in sugar, these are pretty tangy. I love throwing a handful in my cereal in the morning, so I can control how much sugar goes into them, unlike a box of Special K (although Special K doesn't do too shabby on the sugar in the first place.) The powder at the bottom of the bag makes great strawberry milk. Be careful with anything you want to look pretty, though- It will actually turn mixes purple, not the vivid red color you'd think. Have food dye on hand if you want a pinkish strawberry muffin.

Purchased the organic Strawberries freeze-dried and was a big home run hit with our family! We love them and are getting the 9LB box next, hope that lasts longer than the day That the 1 Lb box lasted us! Tasty and sweet, organic to boot!!

As usual this product is a home run. Tasty, delicious and a healthy alternative to processed junk. This is our second order from NBT and we have not been disappointed in any of the items we ordered. We held off on ordering a large amount of fruit items due to the naturally high cost but every item we've tried has been well worth the expense. The strawberries are phenomenal! Just like walking out into the garden and picking them off the plant!

I have purchased almost all the varieties of NBT freeze-dried fruit and have found them to be absolutely first class in every respect. You can read the reviews proclaiming their "snack" power; don't ignore their reconstituted deliciousness either. For example, I keep angel food cake in the freezer. When I need a dessert on short notice, I slice off however many portions I need, frozen, and plate them. The cake thaws while I make a fruit compote by reconstituting some dried fruit (a single variety or a combo--strawberry/raspberry, peach/mango, apple/cranberry, or my favorite: cherry/cherry/cherry--with a small amount of hot water, a dash of sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger, a gentle squish with the potato masher, a pffft of real whipped cream in a can...and smiles all around.
I'd like to share my latest method for enjoying the taste of fresh fruit every day (from The Kitchn website):
Make a Week of Steel-Cut Oats in 5 Minutes
from The Kitchn, by Maxwell Ryan and Sara Kate Gillingham
1 2/3 cups steel-cut oats
4 cups water
Large pinch salt
Milk or soy milk
Cinnamon or other spices
Raisins or other *DRIED FRUIT*
Walnuts or other *NUTS*
5 pint-sized Mason jars with lids (I used wide-mouth jars)
Collect your jars and other equipment. I like pint-sized jars for this as they allow a little more room for adding nuts, raisins, and milk later. But you can also use half-pint jars.
Bring the oats, water and salt to a boil. Simmer for about 3 minutes then turn off the heat.
Ladle the oats and water into the jars. Cover the jars tightly with their caps and rings (or buy the more convenient plastic screw-on lids). Leave on the counter over-night. (This is how I make my oatmeal and I have had absolutely no problems with it, health-wise, but if for some reason you are not comfortable leaving hot oatmeal out overnight, you can also refrigerate the jars. The oatmeal won't be quite as well cooked in the morning; it will be a thinner, less creamy oatmeal. But it will still be fine.)
The next morning, put all but one of the jars in the refrigerator. Take the cap off one jar and stir up the oatmeal inside. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, or until quite hot. Add any milk, raisins, or other mix-ins. Enjoy!
• You can also add your raisins, cinnamon, or other mix-ins to the rest of the jars before putting them away in the refrigerator. Then all you have to do is grab one and go on your way out the door--you, warming tasty, nutritious grain and the taste of fresh fruit all metaphorically flipping the bird at Old Man Winter.
Bon appetite (and long live NBT!).

I ordered several items in attempt to find healthier snacks for my 4 year old and almost 3 year old children. In the little town we live in, there is limited healthy foods to eat and I am tired of regretfully feeding my children processed junkie snacks. I cannot say enough how glad I am that I made my order from NBTC. It arrived only yesterday and my children have been devouring the strawberries since! We havent tried any other items from my order yet because they just wont stop asking for the strawberries!
I bought the one pound bag of strawberries which is much larger than it sounds. To put into prospective, it is about the size of a 11 pound bag of cat food but obviously weighs only a pound. Somehow as much as I ordered, I have a feeling it will be empty within a week. I read some reviews that they are fantastic in smoothies. I would like it if someone would post a recipe so that I could try this as well. I will be ordering more of these strawberries very soon!

These straberries are great on my cereal in the morning and I don't have to worry about them spoiling.
(Posted on 1/31/2014)
Really great flavor and a nice crunch. Also uniform slices and not a lot of little bits and pieces.
(Posted on 11/26/2013)
I am in love with these strawberries. I eat them as snacks during the day with some raw almonds or at night in front of the TV when I want chips....these are super addicting.
(Posted on 11/13/2013)
These FDstrawberries are AMAZING!!! Straight out of the bag, mixed in cereal, yogurt, or a smoothie, crushed and added to a cake mix any way you can imagine. Take my advice and order a couple of the 1 lb bags. You won't be sorry!

My 3 young daughters (ages 5, 3, and 1 year) all love the Special K Red Berries cereal. I discovered that they were only eating the freeze dried strawberries, so I searched for bags of them. These were the best price and they are so yummy. My girls love to eat a small dish of them for a snack (or with a meal). There is a bit of strawberry dust at the bottom of every pack, but I've found that it is so good to add a scoop or two of it to our morning oatmeal. We also love to add about a quarter cup of the strawberries to our oatmeal after it's cooked. They plump up a little bit and taste so good. Very happy with our purchase and we will continue to buy more.

Went through two 1 lb bags so fast that I am buying the 9lb box this time:)
It may sound strange but I think I actually prefer the freeze-dried strawberries over fresh.
(Posted on 4/17/2013)
The freeze-dried strawberries are a hit with my 5-year-old. With the strawberry powder at the bottom of the bag, we added it to some fresh goat milk with some vanilla, stevia and xylitol - homemade strawberry milk! Yummmm.

I searched for well over two years for these freeze dried Strawberries, I eventually found some but they sold them in very very small bags priced @ $4.00 & $5.00 dollars per ounce. I could consume 1 to 2 bags a day that would of gotten pretty pricey after awhile. That's when I turned to Google & came upon this place ("North Bay's"). After reading all the nice comments & great price's I decided to give em a try, I put in a nice sized order!!!
I'M SO GLAD I DID!!! THEY CAN COUNT ON ME TO KEEP COMING BACK & BACK & BACK..
I'm here to stay.
I L-O-V-E THEM S-T-R-A-W-B-E-R-R-I-E-S

I take these big strawberry pieces and dip them in chocolate :) also the freeze dried raspberries since they are a bit tart.

I have a 5 year old and 1 year old. They go crazy just hearing the bag crinkle. If my 5 year old see's your package she will run to check it out. They love eating the strawberries on everything. We mix freeze dried fruit in cereal, oatmeal, yogurt or just eat by themselves. We even use the little bit of strawberry crumbs when its time to polish off the bag. We add that to milk or put on ice cream. We have also started that every time we buy our new bag of strawberry's that we will try a new fruit and veggie. So far everything that we have tried has been wonderful. It's a healthy snack for them and they love it!

I was turned on to this site by a freind and she told me to try the strawberries. I order in the 1 lb bag and never have enough. Use freeze dried strawberries for desserts for pot luck dinners and everyone wants to know where I find such good strawberries out of season, I hardly by fresh ones as these are so good. I eat them as they are or use them in muffins and desserts. Try them dry, add whip cream and set in fridge just before your meal. Makes a yummy dessert and they are perfectly rehydrated enough to enjoy with the whip cream. can't be any simplier.

I not only love the taste and texture but my toddler loves them! I got them for him so that he has a nutritious snack on the go! I have already told all my friends and family to get freeze dried strawberries for their little ones! Im definitely going to be a repeat customer!

I have a son with special needs who has sensory and texture issues. He is a very fussy eater. I have ordered from North Bay at least 6 times and each time we have had 5-star quality service. Our product arrives on a timely basis, in great shape and the freeze dried strawberries are my son's absolute favorites. We buy the big bag and have never had less then perfect quality from our purchases. I recommend this company/product highly for their quality and great tasting product. Thank you for such great service.

I love to put these freeze dried strawberries in milk and eat like cold cereal. YUM! Great crushed and add to milk for a healthy, vitamin packed drink for kids. Does need a little sweetener in the drink.
(Posted on 9/1/2011)
I have tried other brands of freeze dried strawberries, and these are by far the best I have ever had. I eat them right out of the bag or mix them with blueberries and lots of cinnamon. I am so glad I found this company! I will definitely order a larger size next time. In addition to the great product, the packaging and shipping were excellent.

My 2 year old daughter cannot get enough of these freeze dried strawberries. It is her favorite thing to snack on. Also great for after meal dessert.
(Posted on 4/30/2011)
I ordered these because our local store discontinued freeze dried strawberries. Our 16 month old Granddaughter loves them! She was at our house when they were delivered and could hardly wait for me to get them out of the box. I love the convenience of the zip lock pouch. These strawberries melt in your mouth and taste like you just picked them from your garden. The deliverly time was fast, I ordered on a Saturday and received the product on Wednesday. I will definitely order again. Thank You!

I have eaten plenty of freeze dried strawberries by several manufacturers. I have to say that these are without a doubt the freshest tasting of all of them. They are crunchy and extremely sweet. We eat them by the handfull, and cannot stop at one or two. The only size bag that will do is the 1 pound bag, otherwise we would have to order every other day. They are great to eat by themselves, and fantastic in yogurt and in cereal. I have not cooked or baked with them, but in time I will. The strawberries remain fresh and crunchy for a very long time. If you love strawberries there is no possible way that you wont love these too! During the winter months when strawberries are extremely expensive at up to $4 a pound, these are very affordable. I like that they can be packed to go anywhere anytime as they do not need refrigeration. Do yourself a favor.....buy some....better yet......buy lots of em. You will rave about them.

These freeze dried strawberries are great in Honey Bunches of Oats cereal . They have a wonderful favor. They are well packed.
(Posted on 2/5/2011)
These are very high quality. Good color, crisp, and great strawberry taste. The 15-lb bulk bag filled 4 of the 6-gallon buckets with a reclosable mylar liner inside, and had 2.5 quarts left over. I am very happy with this purchase.

My one year old daughter LOVES these dried strawberries (so does mom). They are great because they just melt in your mouth.
(Posted on 6/9/2010)
I am very happy with this product because of how these strawberries are packaged (I bought a couple of 1lb foil bags). The bags are factory sealed (they are resealable like Ziploc bags), and they also put a couple of small absorber packets (don't eat them! :)) into the bags, which makes the fruit perfectly dry. It would be totally perfect if they shipped them in individual boxes rather than bags in a shipping box, but I do understand it will draw the price up, so bags are OK.
Other places that sell in bulk (like nuts online) just send you a big 2-lb plastic bag of these tied with a knot at the top. The fruit is not perfectly dry, and it gets more and more moisture as it sits in your house. So I switched to these strawberries because they are packed much better.
The only thing that pisses me off is that my credit card gets charged at check out instead of when they ship but I can live with that; I am only buying this stuff 2-3 times a year.

I live in California and can buy strawberries fresh most of the year. However, having these dried strawberries on hand is very convenient. We add to our morning cereal and I throw some in salads. Can be used in many ways like adding to a fruit salad as they rehydrate from the liquids of fresh or canned fruit. Even add to jello. The hot liquid dehydrates them. Definitely a keeper!

I have tried several on line stores to find freeze dried fruit that meet our expectations, and these Strawberries did ... and MORE. Great fresh strawberry flavor- we love to eat them plane, or in cereal. When my kids get home from school, they ignore any candy or cookies in the house and go straight for the fruit. My daughter brought some to her Life Skills class as school when she did a report on healthy after school snacks. She got an A.

I've got white furniture, so no way I would risk fresh strawberries while watching a movie. Yet popcorn needs so much salt and butter to make it good.... Not for my healthy lifestyle. So... I find these wonderous delights explode with concentrated strawberry flavor, yet are completely mess free for eating anywhere. No more potato chips...Strawberry chips! ;)

Easy to Prepare
- Use dry as a healthy snack, as an addition to trail mixes, and as a crunchy topping for cereals and desserts.
- For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried strawberries, once rehydrated, equals approximately 10 lbs of fresh prepared sliced strawberries.
