    Instant Pot Nice!
Jest cooked up my first batch of soup in my 3 Qt Instant Pot. Used 1-1/2 cup of mix, 7-1/2 cups water, 6 teaspoons Roasted Chicken Better Than Bullion. Set I.P. To 15 minutes, High, Natural release. Beans were a bit over cooked and there was a lot of broth. Next time, I’ll decrease time to 10 minutes, 5 cups of water, and 5 teaspoons of B.T.B. Still was very tasty!

    Great in a Instant Pot
To cut the spiciness of this mix, soak it for a while in some water and then skim off the peppers that float to the top. You'll be taking away some of the bell peppers too but you can add some more in if you want. We didn't miss them. I use some sweet Italian sausage fried up for a few minutes add in the soup mix and top with chicken broth and some water until about 1/2 inch over the ingredients. Set pressure cooker to 90 minutes and do a natural release for 15 minutes when done. Then do a quick release. For a little thicker soup, I mash with a potato masher a bit. Perfect soup.

    I love this soup!
I really love this soup! The spiciness is just right, lots of beans and the bit of corn make for a great soup. I made this in my large slow cooker. I used the whole package of beans, 2 pints of my own chicken stock, 1 28 oz tin of whole Roma tomatoes chopped, 1 med to large onion chopped, two jalapenos, seeded and chopped a chorizo sausage cut in slices and then in fours to keep everything all about the same size and then topped it all off with water. I let it cook on high for two hours and then let it soak overnight. In the morning I set it to low and let it cook for about 6 hours. This soup is nicely thickened and spicy and just right for a good meal.

    So Incredibly good!
I used to buy this bean mix at my local Whole Foods. When they stopped carrying it I searched the internet until I found it here. I hate beans and especially bean soup, but I can't get enough of this one. I make it with leftover ham bones, and half water and half homemade chicken soup. At the end, I add sliced Smoked Chorizo or Andouille Sausage and heat it through. I use a 5 lb package of beans to make about 12 quarts of soup. This is my husband's favorite go to soup since it's practically a whole meal.

Visitors always ask for my/your soup mix.
Even my brother who is sensitive to spicy foods, Loves this blend and has no digestive problems with it. I just throw frozen pork chops and Italian sausages on top of a nice layer of beans, add water and let it all simmer in my crock pot the day before company is coming. Refrigerate overnight, skim off the fat in the morning, and let it reheat the day of arrival. It doesn't matter how much I make, it is all gone by the time company leaves. I love adding different beans on sale to the mix---especially North Bay's Christmas limas.

Gourmet soup in the Crock Pot
I LOVE this soup! I made mine in the crock pot. I used 1.25 cups of the soup mix 3 tbsp. of low sodium Better than Boullion, one can of Hunts tomatoes and mild green chilis, and I added a medium onion and 8 - 10 cups of water. I used the low setting for 5 hours and then cranked it up to high for 1.5 hours. We put some tortilla strips on the top for fun. It was DELISH! I froze the left overs in individual serving containers. The soup re-heats wonderfully!

    Deeeeeelish
Wholesome and easy to cook. I put them in the pressure cooker and within the hour we were eating soup. Beans usually take a while to cook even after they have been soaked overnight. My husband and I took some on vacation (we were trying to lose weight), and I prepared this soup. I enhanced it a bit with diced turkey and dried veggies. I added no fat chicken broth and low-fat sour cream. Tasty, matter of fact, we had some for lunch and dinner. I highly recommend.

Spicy is just right. I had added cooked cubed ham and cooked spicy sausage. Both styles of soup texture with chicken broth or cooked down to a chile were both good.

    Healthy, Tasty Fabulous
I bought this at Whole Foods and was thrilled to find that I could buy it online in larger quantities. The spice blend is just right - adds some flavor without overwhelming. This is a great soup mix to experiment with - adding chicken, other veggies, sour cream, avocado, etc. Versatile and tasty - a great staple for my pantry.

Tasty, healthy, and great customer service!
I've been eating North Bay's Spicy Southwestern Soup for a long time and now need to give credit where credit is due.
Th taste of this soup is excellent with just the right amount of spiciness. Compared to ordinary, bland soup, it wakes up your taste buds. I have it often. Customer service is also great and it's no surprise to me that North Bay (Greggar and Borg) got an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. Call them for tips on how to adjust spiciness or flavor. Spicy Southwester Soup will give you something to look forward to at lunch time or dinner. It's hard to believe something that tastes this good is also healthy. A terrific combination of health and great taste. Definitely worth trying.

It's a soup with a wonderful flavor! I've tried it with chicken stock and beef stock, chicken seems to be the best. I usually add a can of diced tomatoes to it and serve with warm tortillas.

    Seriously spicy
This soup is seriously spicy. I have taken to adding just a bit of it to other soup mixes because it adds such a kick that it is unpleasant on its own.

    The reviews are right!!!
What a delicious soup mix! Ordered some after reading all the great reviews and I must say...this soup did not disappoint! Very flavorful...but a bit on the spicy side for me, my husband loved it!! I made it with organic chicken stock and then added some chopped fresh tomatoes and chopped pieces of baked chicken. YUM!! Next time, I'm going to try a little smoked sausage in it... sort of like a gumbo flave!

Very good and easy to alter.
We have made this into a bean soup according to the directions and it is very good. We also followed the advice of another review, removed 1/3 of the beans and mashed them and returned them with sour cream. Ours came out a bit thick so we put it over rice. One of the best beans and rice dishes we have ever made. It has now become a request in our home. Love this type food that we can ignore in the pantry but when we have time and with a few extras makes a fantastic meal.

My husband says I've "hit it"
My husband is sometimes difficult to cook for and so while he liked the soup plain he encouraged me to see what I could do with it. Well I made it late last week and he says I've finally "hit it." Used 6 cups of chicken broth to cook the soup. Cooked it for about 3 hours on a low simmer and then took about 1/3 of the beans out and smashed them. Then returned them to the pot and added maybe 3/4 cup of sour cream. Served it hot with cornbread. The kid even loved it! Thank you NBT for such healthy and versatile products.

    Spicy but not too spicy
I added a can of corn and can of Mexican style stewed tomatoes. Served with hot corn bread. I made this soup for my company over the holidays. It serves a lot of people and is quite economical to make. Everyone raved about it!

Easiest Awesome soup I ever made
I just made this soup for the first time; added a cup of the airdried veggies, water, and followed the soup directions. Just before it was done, I added some leftover cooked rice, to complete the protein with the beans. Nothing else added, and the soup is AWESOME!

Fantastic taste; made by a family who is very helpful.
I've been eating this soup for over a year and it always tastes great. It fills your mouth with flavor. While eating it I think, "This not only tastes good, but it's also good for me." High quality, healthy ingredients and just the right amount of spicyness. If you want, add some cilantro and lime juice, or adjust chunkiness by using more or less water.

It's great to be eating something that not only tastes great, but is also healthy. Spicy SW soup is 5 star on both health and taste. The owners are a wonderful father and son team who stand behind their product. If you have a question or want advice on how to make it more or less spicy, or want recipe ideas, give them a call or send them an email. They're both very helpful.
