They taste fresh, and not like "tea": they are substantial slices, as the other reviewer said, not flakes, or tiny dices. They taste exactly like fresh carrots when rehydrated without cooking them. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, and will be ordering more. I ordered a 2.5 pound bag of carrots as a test, and it filled 4 quart jars.

Consistent size and color is very very very well preserved in the drying process (all that good nutrition isn't oxidized!) The other thing is the cut means these are not going to get lost in your recipe.

Easy to Prepare
- Add dry carrots while slow cooking soups, stews, chilies, and other foods with sufficient liquid content.
- For most other applications, hydrate using 1 part dry carrots and 4.5 parts water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Then simmer 10-20 minutes.
- Add additional water if needed.
Yield — 1 oz equals about 1/2 cup dry. Generally, air dried vegetables double in volume when hydrated.
Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of air dried carrots, once rehydrated, equals approximately 4.5 lbs of fresh prepared cross cut carrots.
Storage — Best if used within 18 months. Store tightly sealed in a dry location away from sunlight.
