    MMMMmmmmm...
I just ordered the big bag.
Ordered some FD mangos and added a small bag of these to my order--Oh my, they tasted awesome! And texture is perfect.
I have ordered FD peaches from here a few times before and had mixed results: one bag tasted great so ordered again--next bag was not so good (kind of bland tasting), so stuck with Mangos as my fav. Tried another time after, and they were ok, pretty good. But this bag/"batch", mmmmMMmmm was perfect, I want more

    Absolutely First Class
I have purchased almost all the varieties of NBT freeze-dried fruit and have found them to be absolutely first class in every respect. You can read the reviews proclaiming their "snack" power; don't ignore their reconstituted deliciousness either. For example, I keep angel food cake in the freezer. When I need a dessert on short notice, I slice off however many portions I need, frozen, and plate them. The cake thaws while I make a fruit compote by reconstituting some dried fruit (a single variety or a combo--strawberry/raspberry, peach/mango, apple/cranberry, or my favorite: cherry/cherry/cherry--with a small amount of hot water, a dash of sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger, a gentle squish with the potato masher, a pffft of real whipped cream in a can...and smiles all around.
I'd like to share my latest method for enjoying the taste of fresh fruit every day (from The Kitchn website):

Make a Week of Steel-Cut Oats in 5 Minutes
from The Kitchn, by Maxwell Ryan and Sara Kate Gillingham
    1 2/3 cups steel-cut oats
    4 cups water
    Large pinch salt
    Mix-Ins:
    Milk or soy milk
    Cinnamon or other spices
    Raisins or other *DRIED FRUIT*
    Walnuts or other *NUTS*
    Jam
    Honey
5 pint-sized Mason jars with lids (I used wide-mouth jars)
Collect your jars and other equipment. I like pint-sized jars for this as they allow a little more room for adding nuts, raisins, and milk later. But you can also use half-pint jars.
Bring the oats, water and salt to a boil. Simmer for about 3 minutes then turn off the heat.
Ladle the oats and water into the jars. Cover the jars tightly with their caps and rings (or buy the more convenient plastic screw-on lids). Leave on the counter over-night. (This is how I make my oatmeal and I have had absolutely no problems with it, health-wise, but if for some reason you are not comfortable leaving hot oatmeal out overnight, you can also refrigerate the jars. The oatmeal won't be quite as well cooked in the morning; it will be a thinner, less creamy oatmeal. But it will still be fine.)
The next morning, put all but one of the jars in the refrigerator. Take the cap off one jar and stir up the oatmeal inside. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, or until quite hot. Add any milk, raisins, or other mix-ins. Enjoy!
    • You can also add your raisins, cinnamon, or other mix-ins to the rest of the jars before putting them away in the refrigerator. Then all you have to do is grab one and go on your way out the door--you, warming tasty, nutritious grain and the taste of fresh fruit all metaphorically flipping the bird at Old Man Winter.
Bon appetite (and long live NBT!).

Ordered several of the 1.5 lb bags and every time they are gone within a matter of days. I eat them right out of the bag, they are the best - great pure, peachy taste, nice crisp, no added anything! I am so glad I found your company!

    Excellent
The freeze dried fruit is perfect for toddlers who are teething. Gives them something to gum on and it is nutritious unlike most biscuits or cookies. My toddler was also turned off by mushy fruits, but can pick these up easily and feed herself.

I'm so glad I found your company.
The peaches are great for snacking (allergic to peach fuzz).
And with your tart cherries I make a killer cobbler.

    Frankly, I haven't tasted a fruit I didn't like.

    Awesome textures...and yet
I bought the 1.5 lb bag of this, as I really enjoyed another brand of them, and hated getting just 2 oz at a time. They can be delicious, and they're awesome to eat dry or soaked, but the flavor varies from deliciously sweet to wincingly sour. I think they've let some unripe ones in. Overall, quite enjoyable.

Freeze Dried Peaches

Easy to Prepare

  • Use dry as a healthy snack, as an addition to trail mixes, and as a crunchy topping for cereals and desserts.
  • For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Yield — 1 oz equals about 1 cup dry with very low moisture content.

Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried peaches, once rehydrated, equals approximately 9 lbs of fresh prepared sliced peaches.

Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed while minimizing exposure to high humidity and heat.
