Review by: VickieVery ripe sweet taste!I live in Dayton, Ohio, and it is not easy to get truly ripe, fresh pineapple here. I was concerned that the FD pineapple would be too tart. This freeze dried pineapple has fresh-picked fully ripe flavor! I and my husband are very impressed with such incredible quality! I am very pleased with this product - my only problem is I have to watch how much I eat of this at a sitting because the FD process not only concentrates the sweetness, it also concentrates the acid content. I noticed that NorthBay has started selling some FD powders (strawberry, tomato) and I hope they consider putting pineapple powder on their list. This would make incredible tropical tasting puddings, could be added to canned oranges for a one two taste sensation,or reconsituted for any recipe requiring pineapple bits. Mmm-mmm-mmm!

Easy to Prepare
- Use this freeze dried fruit as is, dry and right out of the bag, as a healthy snack, as an addition to trail mixes and salads, and as a crunchy topping for cereals and desserts.
- For sauces and most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.
Yield — 1 oz equals about 1 cup dry with less than 4% moisture content.
Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of freeze dried pineapple, once rehydrated, equals approximately 8 lbs of fresh prepared diced pineapple.
Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed while minimizing exposure to high humidity and heat.
