    Amazing
Ok, so I do love onions, all different kinds, in fact. But for a "simple" white onion, these outshine in performance! As soon as I opened the bag, a flavorful aroma grabbed my attention. They have done great in cooked dishes like soups and casseroles, and reconstituted nicely into perfectly sized pieces which added a deep almost fruity onion flavor. Then I really put them to the test and added them to the top of a cheese freezer pizza along with NBT freeze dried red peppers and mushrooms. I sprinkled a bit of extra water over them and added a bit more cheese, and Viola! a boring pizza became a real restaurant style supreme from a fancy Italian eatery! These are quickly becoming a staple I add to many dishes. They are already on my list to reorder. The 2 pound bag filled just over 3 of the 1/2 gallon canning jars, or 7 quart jars.

Easy to Prepare

  • Add dry during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking soups and stews that have sufficient amounts of broth.
  • For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5 to 10 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.

Yield — 1 oz equals about 3/4 cups dry with very low moisture content.

Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed and minimize exposure to heat and humidity.
