I could eat these daily! LOVE them!
I was surprised by how good these are. You can make so much with them. But even just butter and salt and they are to die for. Earthy tasting, smooth, creamy. Would blend with almost any flavor.

Tender "beluga caviar" lentils that don't get mushy
I want to love lentils - as a nourishing whole food and a way to reduce but not eliminate meat consumption -
but I just don't care for the tooth-gritty feeling of many lentils. I bought every lentil offered on this site and am cooking my way through them. Still don't like split lentils (yellow, red, etc) but love black lentils and French green lentils - they stay whole and are tender/creamy when cooked. This black lentil is awesome cooked as Dal Makhani (Urvashi Pitre's recipe), with diced sausage and sweet potato. No gritty creepy tooth feeling! Whoo. Winner winner lentil dinner.
