Customer Reviews
This tastes just like fresh asparagus. I've used it in rice dishes - just throw it in the rice cooker with brown rice and it's delicious. Nest time I'll order a larger bag. I agree with a prior reviewes - if you ever offer freeze dry okra I'll be a happy person.

This freeze dried asparagus is wonderful in pasta salad along with the freeze dried spinach, tomatoes and leeks! My honey couldn't get over how good the pasta salad was especially since all the vegetables were freeze dried! He ate the whole salad!

Whenever I buy canned asparagus, the protein per serving = 2 gms, only. Freeze-dried asparagus offers a whopping 9 gms/serving! Another premium veggie offering, from NorthBay. Now, if y'all could find a way to air-dry or freeze-dry OKRA, my pantry needs would be totally fulfilled by your company!

I didn't like these eaten straight out of the bag, but adding these to dishes was super easy and tasted wonderfully fresh. Creme of asparagus soup was never so good!

This is another excellent product (see my review of the green beans) that exceeded my expectations. The product looks exactly as pictured, and tastes great "as is", or re-hydrated and cooked like frozen asparagus. A note on density: I ordered a 15 pound box (now 10 pounds for sale on website), and it filled 6 of the standard 6-gallon buckets with 8 quart jars left over. I think for 10 pounds, it would fill on the order of 4 of the standard 6-gallon buckets.

Easy to Prepare
- Use alone as a dry snack or add to veggie trail mixes.
- Add dry for a crunchy effect in salads and, while serving, cooked rice and cooked pasta.
- Add dry during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking soups that have sufficient broth.
- For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5-10 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.
Yield — 1 oz equals about 2-3/4 cups dry with very low moisture content. Fresh weight replacement ratio is 1 to 16 (freeze dried to fresh prepared).
Storage — Tastes best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed and minimize exposure to heat and humidity.
